About Lisa Anne

"I'm not going to do that breathing thing"!

In attempt to escape stress from a technology sales career, a colleague introduced me to a 3 day Iyengar workshop.  With a consistent workout routine of lifting weights, reluctantly I attended;  no interest in that breathing thing.   The workshop was so intense that I missed the 3rd day; humbled by the power of the practice.

As serendipity would have it, I reconnected with a friend who suggested her yoga instructor, Sherry Han.  After one class in 1997, I have been passionate about yoga and my commitment grew with the discovery of yoga's transformative power.

Cultivating awareness and breath are the foundations of practice.

I like to teach a blend of creative sequences with strength building poses to develop stability. My teaching philosophy is simple: through awareness of alignment, release tension within your body and mind.  Alignment brings ease and supports calming breath to create openness. Most importantly, this connection cultivates the joy within your practice and can transform your life.

Why Zenaissance?

With practice it was clear, that with a mindful approach and honor of the body, a peaceful rebirth of mind and spirit could be achieved,

With a quest to learn more, Lisa began studies and certifications with instructors from a variety teaching styles.  Most notably, Erich Schiffmann, Ana Forrest, Jennifer Prugh, Giselle Mari, as well as Sharon Gannon and David Life creators of the Jivamutki Method.

Lisa is a RYT Yoga Alliance 500 Hour - Certified and a 300 Hour certified Jivamukti Instructor.
